The works for the construction of the Great Mosque of Algiers began in 2012 and will finish at the end of 2020.

The great architectural complex is built on an area of about 400 thousand square meters, is consisting of ; of ten buildings and può host up to 120 thousand people. The work, built by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation, will beà the third mosque; largest in the world, the first on the African continent, with the minaret; big in the world. In this project, 250 Fire Doors in Cherry wood have been inserted.
